Axir builds Chrome extensions that read 1099 Composite PDFs, pull out the official 1099-INT, DIV and B boxes, and write files Lacerte imports on its own. Your staff review every number against the PDF before anything is exported.
A brokerage 1099 Composite runs 10 to 60 pages, and every brokerage lays it out differently. Lacerte can't read it. Someone keys it in. This is the part we automate.
The extension picks up 1099 PDFs from Outlook attachments or a drag-and-drop upload, identifies the brokerage and tax year, and routes each one to the right parsing profile.
Only the official IRS boxes on 1099-INT, 1099-DIV and 1099-B are extracted, plus the sale lots from the 1099-B detail. Supplemental pages are ignored, so nothing unofficial ends up on the return.
Click any field and the PDF jumps to the highlighted number it came from. Staff correct anything that looks off and approve the form. Nothing is exported until a person signs off.
Interest and dividends go into a Lacerte GL Bridge (.IB5) file written straight to Lacerte's import folder, which Lacerte picks up on its next start. 1099-B sales go to a CSV for the Schedule D Import Wizard.
Our first production build. The firm's staff were keying brokerage 1099s into Lacerte by hand, form by form. The extension went into use in late September 2026 and both exports, the GL Bridge file and the Schedule D CSV, import into their Lacerte install.
Schwab, Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Ameriprise, RBC and Ally, each parsed by its own profile per tax year. A new brokerage is a new profile, not a rebuild.
Only forms not sent before are exported, and each new payer takes the next free Screen 11 or 12 slot. Edits staff already made in Lacerte are never overwritten.
Before each export, the extension reads Lacerte's own totals (read-only) and compares them with what it has sent, flagging clients with data entered elsewhere or a form that looks missing.
When a brokerage changes its 1099 layout for a new tax year, we update the profile. That's what the monthly plan covers.
Not directly. Lacerte can't read a brokerage PDF. The extension turns it into the two formats Lacerte does accept: a GL Bridge (.IB5) file for interest and dividends, imported into Screens 11 and 12 when Lacerte starts, and a CSV for the Schedule D Import Wizard.
No. PDFs are read and parsed inside the staff member's browser. Our server only checks the license at login; it never sees the documents, the client numbers or the extracted figures.
Each brokerage is a separate profile, so we scope the build around the brokerages your clients actually use. Send a redacted sample of each and we'll tell you what's covered and what needs a new profile.
The extraction and review steps don't depend on Lacerte; only the export format does. If your software has an import format, we can write to it. Bring it up on the discovery call.
A one-time build fee plus a flat monthly plan that covers maintenance and brokerage layout changes, with no per-seat fees. Tiers are on the Services page; we give you a fixed quote after the discovery call.
